As a member of the Communications Practice for 30 years, Susan Anderson oversees and manages complex client projects involving Federal Communications Commission (FCC) due diligence and client reorganizations. Susan drafts and reviews memoranda and correspondence summarizing FCC proceedings, prepares applications for all broadcast-related activity letters, reports, and other documents for filing at the FCC as well as informational correspondence to clients. She prepares assignment and transfer applications (FCC Forms 312/314/315/316/603), facilities change and license applications for full service broadcast stations (Forms 301/302) and secondary licenses such as auxiliaries, private radio (Form 601) and earth stations (Form 312), drafts ownerships reports (Form 323), post-consummation notices, and calculates regulatory fees.
In 1990, Susan was appointed the Communications Coordinator and, in addition to her substantive duties, she supervises and coordinates issues relating to the practice group including development and maintenance of the practice group's database of broadcast clients, applications, and select training manuals for attorneys, legal assistants, and secretaries within the group. She also supervises and advises on procedures relating to the filing of FCC applications at the FCC Secretary's office or with the FCC's fee management program in Washington, DC. She is also responsible for the hiring, training, and review of all legal assistants in the Communications group.
