Lori Beth Ouzts joined Dow Lohnes in 2010 as an Associate. She works on a variety of corporate transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures. Ms. Ouzts also works on general corporate governance matters.
While in law school, Ms. Ouzts was a member of the Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law, serving on the editorial board and on the managing board as Executive Editor. She worked for Professor Lori A. Ringhand researching voting patterns and practices of U.S. Supreme Court justices and for Professor Charles R.T. O'Kelley identifying and analyzing various corporate governance mechanisms and controls. Ms. Ouzts also served as a teaching assistant for Dean Paul M. Kurtz, counseling 1L students on law school study methods and exam preparation skills.
Ms. Ouzts was awarded the CALI Awards for Constitutional Law and Federal Income Taxation. She was the 2009 recipient of the State Bar of Georgia Outstanding Tax Student Award. While at UGA Law, she was a two-time recipient of the Andrea R. Bennett Scholarship and was inducted to the Georgia Chapter of Order of the Coif.
