Jeff Hunter is an Associate in Dow Lohnes’s Government Relations practice group. He brings years of national campaign and public advocacy organization staff experience to his practice, augmenting legal analysis with a deep understanding of campaigns’ and advocacy organizations’ operational needs. Mr. Hunter’s work focuses on federal and state campaign finance, lobbying disclosure, and ethics rule compliance; PAC creation, operation, and reporting; formal complaint and informal agency review response at the federal and state levels; and, Federal Communications Commission political broadcasting regulatory compliance.

Mr. Hunter’s current and recent projects include:

• Providing ongoing counsel on campaign finance, lobbying disclosure, and ethics rule compliance to businesses in the medical, energy, lobbying, broadcasting, and publishing industries, as well as to one of the world’s largest Section 501(c)(4) social welfare organizations and a number of other non-profits;
  
  
• Representing broadcast stations before the Federal Election Commission and Federal Communications Commission in connection with regulatory compliance and enforcement proceedings;
  
  
• Training client employees regarding federal gift rule limitations, campaign finance regulations, and lobbying disclosure requirements; and,
  
  
• Preparing legislative language for inclusion within 2008-2009 fiscal stimulus bills.
