“As IP law has become even more important, due in part to the increasing rate at which technology is evolving, David’s expertise is a welcome addition to our practice.”

Throughout his career, Long has successfully litigated a wide-array of technology issues involving everything from complex electrical circuits to Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), wireless communication systems, signal processing systems, memory devices, integrated circuit designs, automatic voice systems, computer software systems, manufacturing systems and medical products.
“David’s extensive experience litigating intellectual property issues, and his deep knowledge of emerging technologies, will be of great value to our many technology-focused and communication clients” said Dow Lohnes managing partner John Byrnes. “As IP law has become even more important, due in part to the increasing rate at which technology is evolving, David’s expertise is a welcome addition to our practice.”
The firm’s existing expertise in communications regulatory, corporate and intellectual property law, as well as its expertise in communications and IP litigation, nicely complement David’s experience in telecommunications related patent litigation. “I am excited to join Dow Lohnes,” said Long. “I think this will be an ideal platform to provide a full array of legal services to our telecommunications clients.”
Long earned a masters degree in electrical engineering from Auburn University and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Alabama School of Law.
