Associate Benefits

We are proud to say that associates at Dow Lohnes receive top of the legal market salaries as well as a wide array of benefits including additional compensation under the firm's bonus program and the following:

Health Benefits

The firm offers health insurance, including medical and prescription drug benefits, dental and vision, and an Employee Assistance Program. These benefits are available for opposite and same-sex domestic partners.

Insurance

Dow Lohnes offers life insurance, supplemental life, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, short-term disability, and long-term disability insurance.

401(k) Program

Associates are eligible to join the 401(k) program upon employment with the firm. The firm also provides a profit sharing contribution equal to 3-5% of total compensation based on tenure, generally beginning in the second year of employment.

Vacation

Associates are provided with and encouraged to take four weeks of vacation annually.

Transportation Benefits

Associates receive an option of having either two-thirds of their monthly parking fee paid, or up to $100.00 in Metro passes.

Moving Expenses

The firm will reimburse new associates for reasonable relocation expenses that occur within six months of employment.

Bar Related Expenses

The firm offers an interest-free loan for all incoming Fall Associates to assist in covering their expenses while studying for the bar. The firm will also reimburse first-year associates for their bar review study course as well as all fees related to taking one bar exam. All lawyers must be members of the bar in the jurisdiction in which they will be practicing.

Parental Leave

The firm offers paid parental leave for both new mothers and fathers after the birth of their baby or during the adoption process.

Tuition Reimbursement

Dow Lohnes offers tuition reimbursement for tax associates earning an LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University, and for other associates upon a practice group determination that the advanced study furthers a firm interest. The firm also pays attorneys' continuing legal education (CLE) fees.

PDAs

The firm provides each attorney with a TREO Smart Phone providing them access to phone, e-mail, calendars and the web all in one device.

ConSern Loans for Education

Separate from the Dow Lohnes tuition program, employees are eligible to apply for an educational loan after one year of service. This loan may be used for the employee, spouse, or children for undergraduate, graduate, professional, or private secondary schools. Features include low interest rates; flexibility regarding the use of the funds and a 15-year repayment schedule.
